We love it here! We have a really tight knit ward. They read our names in the first Sacrament meeting we attended and asked us what the baby's name was over the pulpit and we yelled it from the pews. It was awesome. The day we pulled up with a moving van, six men and their wives stopped by to help unload. That night, dinner was brought to us. The next day, and for the next several days, we received visitors with treats and good long chats. We have only been here for a short time but we have already had so much service rendered. One family watched all three of our boys so Glen and I could go see Les Miserables (you know, that 3-hour + musical production?). Such amazing people here. And the weather can't be beat! We have spent everyday outside doing something. Unfortunately, I started back at work today so I'm stuck inside and the boys won't really stay outside without me. I wish they would.
He was due to arrive on July 18th. I waited patiently until the 16th. I tried to not think about a due date this time around. "He'll be here by the end of July." That's what I told people who asked when he was due. But I couldn't get the 16th out of my mind. That day came and went as did the following several days. I had many episodes of false labor. One sent me to triage since it was caused by an infection. That was the worst pain ever considering I knew I would not be getting a baby out of those contractions. I was getting incredibly impatient. I tried everything. I ate a whole pineapple, I walked and walked with my mom until I couldn't move any more, I ate spicy foods, I hung out with Glen a lot, and I was getting contractions all the time. However, I was not progressing really at all when I saw my doctor on July 21st and she said we would do an "outpatient induction" the next day. I was told this meant I would be given gel to start the induction and then sent home. I had Glen come with me to the hospital because he had nothing better to do but I thought I would be there an hour tops. I told my boss I would be right back....
July 22nd, on my way to the hospital

I got to the hospital and they put me in a room and told me to get undressed. I had not brought anything but my husband and my phone. As everything was being explained to me, I soon realized I would be there for at least 12 hours. They had planned to do 3 rounds of the gel and each round took four hours. Oops. I wouldn't be going back to work that day. After the second round, my contractions were really close and at about a 7 on the pain scale. The nurse didn't want to give me another round because the contractions were already on top of each other. I did my best to cope with the pain. I walked and bounced and mostly just kept moving. Eventually the contractions slowed and the word "pitocin" was said and I relented and asked for the anesthesiologist to get ready. Pitocin and I were acquainted with each other and I knew I would need an epidural to cope with it. I was grateful for the nurses and the anesthesiologist who were on my side and told me I could do it without the pain meds but I am also grateful there is such a thing as an epidural these days.

Once I was given the epidural, my body relaxed and the contractions started to get closer. At about 5:15 am on July 23rd it was time to push. I had to wait because my doctor was not there but after two pushes, little Henry was here. He was 9 lbs 1 oz and had a head full of hair.
I don't know what we will be doing or where we will be living in the next six months. We had a set plan to move to Utah by June of this year. I had my heart set on it. I planned our life. I looked at houses. This is what I do when someone puts an idea into my head. However, another opportunity has arisen and we may be staying here for at least another 3 years. Now that this is an option, I have my heart set on it.... I just can't imagine taking my little boys from their grandma. They love her so and I know they will not see her as much and may even forget how much they love her. But it's all really up in the air. We still have to figure some things out for the option of staying here. It may not even really be an option. But either way, we will be happy! I love this family so much. I have an awesome husband and some really cute, nice kids. We have hard times just like anyone else but we overall have things pretty good. I'm excited to see where we will be this summer!
Live continues on. General Conference was this past weekend. I was definitely inspired to be better. I want to be a more nurturing mom. I feel like I'm so rough all the time. I want to be one of the women they described so beautifully in Conference. I want to doubt my doubts before I doubt my faith. What an awesome quote by President Uchtdorf!
It's October and it's still pretty hot around these parts. But it's beautiful in the early mornings. In fact, I'm shivering as I type this with my back door open to let the cool air in. I don't know if I will ever survive another Utah winter after being spoiled here. But there is nothing like a Utah summer. So perfect!
Speaking of Utah, our family is currently at a crossroads. Glen has the option of going to school to work on getting a doctorate or getting a teaching job with his masters and living our days out in Utah close to his family and a chunk of my family. The second option is way more comfortable. We would have everything we need. The first option seems more like what Glen has always wanted. I want him to do what he dreams of doing. I am happy to live in a tiny apartment with my kids for a few years while he gets his degree. I would follow him anywhere. That sentence just reminded me of a conversation I had with my best friend in high school. I said, "I never want to be one of those girls that just follows a man everywhere. I want to go to *enter prestigious university here*." Oh, how I have changed. I would do anything for my little family. I am so glad I was able to finish my degree at BYU though. I definitely wouldn't have had Glen not pushed me to do it. We don't seem to be receiving any kind of revelation on which option is best for our family. I think that is because both options are good options. But time is running short. Glen would have to start applying to schools next month which means he has to take the GRE now. I would love either option.

It feels like the right time to welcome another baby into our family but I'm afraid I always will feel that way. Luckily Glen is level-headed. I hope to be pregnant within the next year. I just love my boys so much and can't wait to add another!

Life surges ahead! I love this little life of mine and I wouldn't have it any other way!
So, we're driving to the grocery store and George says, "Mom, look at that man!" I, of course, am worried there is a man on the side of the road buck naked or something, so I say, "What man?!" He says, "Up in the clouds!" Sure enough there is a cloud that looks like someone flexing their muscles. He says, "See! He has a face and he's strong like me!"

Then he says, "What's that?" I couldn't turn and look to see what he was pointing at since I was driving so I just settled with, "I don't know." He said, "It's kinda like (his favorite phrase) a tower. Like the Eiffel Tower but it doesn't have one point, it has two." I realized he meant the transmission tower and I just laughed in surprise that he even knew what the Eiffel Tower was. Is it really September? Where did the summer go? My sweet Georgie started his second year of preschool already! I can't stand it. And he's so dang smart. I don't think I was that smart at his age. He just knows everything and picks up on everything. I have to be really careful about what I say around him. For example, this morning, we were talking about Oliver. Ollie was still asleep in his room and George had climbed into our bed.

He said: Brother was in your tummy and he grew bigger and bigger and bigger.

Me: Yep, that's right. Then he came out and we loved him and gave him lots of kisses.

George: Is there a baby in there?

Me: No, should we put one in there?

George: Yeah! But how?

Me: ....Um..... Daddy puts it in there....

George: How?

Me: Hmmm... This is more in-depth than I was hoping the conversation would go.

*Ollie cries from his room*

Me: Let's go get brother!

He doesn't settle for part of the truth. He wants the whole story. And he will remember everything I have said to that point so he will be asking follow-up questions next time the topic comes up.
Ollie is cute as a button. I can't get enough of that kid. Right now at this very moment he is walking around with our pool bag on his head walking into walls and other such obstacles. Everything he does is hilarious to me. He went in for a check-up but I have yet to post the stats. I am turning in to that mom. You know, the kind that has more than one kid...

Glen started his second and final year of his masters. If all goes well he will graduate in May. His professors say he would be the first they have seen to graduate in his program in two years. Which is funny because everyone else is single and has no children. But Glen is determined to get it done and takes as many credits each semester as they will allow.
We knew we needed to make a summer Utah trip so we planned it around the reunion. We drove up on a Wednesday which meant I could go into work on Thursday and Friday and meet all of the new people in person. Then Friday night we dropped the boys off at my brother's house and went back to Springville High School. What a fun experience! Many things had changed but just as many had stayed the same. Granted, ten years is not very long but it only seemed like yesterday that we were students there. I loved my high school experience. I didn't date or go to many boys' choice dances but I loved my friends and enjoyed almost all of my classes. We had a fun luau dinner without kids. Afterwards I was talked into a late movie with my sisters. I'm glad I went but boy was it hard to stay awake; even with Man of Steel's hot bod flashing across the screen. Then Saturday we had a picnic at a popular park in Mapleton where I used to live. Kids were invited to the picnic so our kids were able to play together.
Mexico was fabulous as always! Everyone always says Mexico is so scary but it really is not. You just have to know where to go and what to do. And being with someone who speaks the language or speaking the language yourself is a huge plus as well. We spent five days on the beach with a few of those hours spent on a boat deep sea fishing, snorkeling, eating the fish we caught in amazing tacos and trolling. That is always my favorite day. They take us to a place called the aquarium where the water is relatively shallow and it is protected from wind by mountains on almost all sides. It makes for amazing snorkeling. We always find really interesting creatures. We also came across a HUGE pod of dolphins that we went through a few times and watched them jump all around us. It was so cool! Then we saw a GINORMOUS whale and her calf. So awesome.
I only got sunburnt one day when I fell asleep under the shade and woke up in the sun. Whoops. I was all alone on the beach because my family was asleep, all of the men were on a fishing trip and the girls were out shopping. I always want to go fishing with the boys but usually they get a five person boat and already have it filled to capacity so this year I didn't even mention wanting to go. And I am not one for shopping. So, I laid on the beach by myself and fell asleep. I'm still dealing with the after affects.
George absolutely loved everything. He loved catching blue water crabs early in the morning and white ghost crabs in the evening. He loved fishing and swimming in the ocean. He loved playing on the beach with his cousins and he really loved swimming in the pool. George has been in swimming lessons and he has really taken to it. He can swim pretty far without taking a breath but he does know how to flip over and get one when he needs to. It's pretty amazing how quickly his teacher gets kids from crying in the water to swimming across the pool. This trip he started doing a half smile which is displayed above. It was very interesting to say the least...
Ollie took a while to enjoy himself on the beach. He had some sad experiences but by the last day he loved it. And the drives there and back were mostly uneventful and the kids were mostly well-behaved. I'm so sad we are home already. It really flew by. I can't wait for next time!Chelsea and Glenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15200797361211802573noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7940164074823132632.post-36929662128320739862013-04-20T08:24:00.005-07:002013-04-20T08:31:57.446-07:00Happy Birthday Ollie! My tiny baby Ollie is now one. I don't know how I feel about that. He's so sweet and I love him terribly! We had a birthday party for both George and Ollie last Saturday. I am waiting for pictures from that to post about it but it was a lot of fun!
Last night, on Ollie's actual birthday, we went out to Cheesecake Factory to celebrate. It's nice to know that our kids are well-behaved enough at this point to be able to take them out to dinner with confidence. We had a great time, no drinks were spilled and no children were carried out screaming! (This will most likely change when Ollie is 18 months and we'll take a 12 month hiatus from taking them out with us, as we did with George...)
Little Ollie is walking all over the place and this morning he figured out how to stand up without holding on to anything. He talks a lot but no one knows what he is saying. He's speaking Ollese. It's pretty darn cute and I can't wait 'til we understand all the wonderful things he has to say. He loves to play with George and thinks he's the coolest kid in the universe (no one has challenged this notion to date). He can wave "bye-bye" and point to anyone's nose on command. He loves all food but his favorite is still breast milk... I'm working on moving away from that to maybe just once a day instead of all day, erry day. But I do enjoy the convenience and the health benefits for both of us. Oh, he also really likes cheesecake apparently...
He turned 3 on April Fool's Day. We didn't play any pranks on him but next year will be awesome. I want to make sure he understands that it's just part of the day. We had our friends Bryce and Jessica Mortimer staying at our house and they spoiled us rotten for George's birthday! First they took him to the nursery and let him pick out a plant for his birthday. He picked a tomato plant. Jessica said he kept picking the saddest and closest to death so she had to keep diverting his attention to the healthy plants. Then we all went to Golfland and played a couple rounds of golf. There is a volcano in the middle of the course that unexpectedly shoots fire out of the top. This was scary for both George and Bryce. It took George a while before he could golf confidently again. Then we all went to Organ Stop Pizza. We love this place! You pretty much are eating your dinner inside of an organ. The organ stops control a myriad of instruments placed all around the walls. We didn't get any pictures of any of these activities... I forgot my camera and Bryce's iphone was dead. But I think he did get a couple of pictures of George chowing down on the ice cream he got after dinner. It was such a fun day and we owe it all to the Mortimers! Thank you!

We will be celebrating his birthday with friends next week. We are combining both Ollie and George's birthday celebrations since Ollie's birthday is less than a week after the day we could have George's party. I can't wait!

George is loving preschool and learning so much! He is a lover of stories and songs and really enjoys his bedtime routine. He loves trains and, thanks to his older cousins, has a million little cars. For the most part he is really good with Ollie and takes care of him. He is constantly telling Glen to put two hands on the wheel when driving and he has a memory like an elephant! We love you George!
George is in preschool so he got to have a party and we made some fun valentines. He got home with lots of candy and wouldn't stop eating it long enough for me to hide it. He had opened two suckers and sucked on them a couple of times before putting them back in the bag to open something else. He ate maybe five pieces of candy before I snuck it all away and hid it.

The two of us also had a wonderful day! It started with a yummy breakfast of eggs and potatoes before Glen had to leave for his one hour of work at Legacy. Then he came home with beautiful flowers. I sent him on a scavenger hunt. Part of it was sending him to the church for an hour or two to practice the organ, which is one of his favorite pass-times (who likes practicing? I mean really?). Then he came home with a delicious lunch from Firehouse subs! I just ended a Biggest Loser competition the day before so it was no holds barred. Then Glen continued his scavenger hunt which took us all to Kohl's to pick out a new outfit for him since most of his work pants have holes. We only had a hour since I was on my lunch break so we hurried home and put the boys down for naps. We left the house all dolled up around 3:30 and dropped the boys at my friend's house while we went to an early dinner at PF Chang's. I bought a $50 giftcard form my neighbor at a discount so we bought everything on the menu, just about. It was early in the afternoon so the place was full of blue-hairs taking pictures of the Chinese mural on the wall. There was also an interesting lady dressed in a Chinese outfit. She was most definitely not Chinese so we think maybe she just likes to really get into the spirit of things or she thought maybe she would get a discount. But it was oh so delicious! We got home about 6 pm and fed the kids and put them to bed. Nothing like quiet time for a few hours before bed. I love my valentine so much! We take care of each other all year-round but it's nice to set a little money aside for fun times and special occasions, even if it is just a commercial holiday.
We took him to the doctor on Thursday and his is 18 lbs 3 ounces and 28 inches. He is in the 70th percentile for head size. So, he is the same height and head size as George was at this age but 2 pounds lighter! He never stops eating though. He eats way more than George does now and almost as much as I do. He will eat as long as there is food in front of him. We have graduated from purees so he just eats whatever is on my plate and I always end up having to get more for him. He's so happy and cute and he is now crawling! He pulls himself up but he can't stand without support yet. I love my little Ollie boy so much and he is his big brother's best friend (after Mommy of course)! It hard not to want another one right away when the baby form of them is so awesome. But then they get to be 18 months old and I'm ready to trade them in. So I will wait until then to see if he is anything like George was and then we'll decide from there...

In April, Georgie Porge turned two! He has been a dream of a two year-old! We had some struggles at the beginning but once I realized I didn't have to think of them as terrible twos, my world changed. I am more patient and I explain everything I tell George to do or not to do. He understands and tantrums are very rare. If he does throw a tantrum it doesn't last very long. He is smart and cute and loving.

Oliver was born in April as well and we have just loved having a baby brother in the house! I am told he looks just like George but as his mom, I just see Oliver so I can't vouch for that. He is sweet and we love him so. He does make a lot of the same faces as baby George did and he sounds the same, to be sure.

I graduated from BYU and I was able to walk at graduation which was really fun. I am still working the same job and the primary bread winner in our family which is a good place for me. I am still second counselor in the Relief Society which means I plan all of the activities. Talk about a stressful calling... But I love the women I serve.

Glen started his Master's Degree at ASU and completed his first semester with a 3.83. He took ten credits which is more than what was advisable... but, he did a great job! He is also working as a TA at ASU and as a music teacher at Legacy. He has been teaching piano lessons as well. He is keeping us afloat, that's for sure!

Here are my "resolutions" from last year:

Potty train George Done and done!

Have a healthy baby boy without needing to be induced We did it!

Gain no more than another 15 lbs this pregnancy I gained just about that much...

Finish baby #2's quilt before he gets here Got it done!

Breastfeed through the end of the year And still going strong!

Save enough money for Glen to get his Masters without taking out a loan We haven't taken out a loan yet but we have used up about 1/3 of our saved money. We made some home improvements...

Graduate from BYU with my bachelors Yay! And I waited until the next graduation and I was able to walk!

Get Glen started at ASU in the Fall in the program he really wants Music History and Literature! Go Daddy!

Find a good daycare for George when Glen starts school We didn't end up putting him in daycare but he is in preschool twice a week and he loves it!!

Glen was asking George some questions and I thought his answers were cute. In fact, I was kind of surprised George knew what he was asking:

What is your name: George Hicks
What is your favorite color: pink
What is your favorite food: blue food
What is your favorite show: Wonder Pets
What is your favorite song: Jingle Bells
What is your favorite animal: giraffe
Who's your favorite, Mommy or Daddy: Mommy
What's your favorite toy: doggy
Who's your favorite train: Thomas
What is your favorite book: the Red Book
What is it about: Um... the sing book (?)

Then he got distracted watching Wonder Pets. This kid surprises me everyday with what he understands and the words and phrases he knows. This morning I asked if he wanted to watch a show and he said, "Yeah, I wanna watch a show. You wanna watch a show with me?" How could I resist?

He went to a sitter's house while we went to the movies and I got a text that said, "You have the easiest kid ever! Since you dropped him off, he has been working on fixing our broken train table." I love him so! And Ollie is looking more and more like him and behaving in all the same ways George did as a baby. I'm hoping for another nice boy! Yay for Hicks' traits and genes!Chelsea and Glenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15200797361211802573noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7940164074823132632.post-86947950323378419602012-12-21T12:12:00.002-08:002012-12-21T12:12:47.786-08:00Merry Christmas from the Hicks Family!

I haven't really felt compelled to blog lately. I don't know if it's just laziness or what. We had a great Thanksgiving! We spent it with Glen's family up in Utah. We were also able to spend quite a bit of time with my brother and his family. We stayed at my sister's house and she stayed at ours like we did for Christmas last year. It's a shame we never get to spend holidays together but it's nice to have a place to stay and to know our home is being taken care of while we're gone. We had a few family pictures taken by Marie's friend which was fun. They were all around his Dad's farm, the home where Glen grew up. It's a really beautiful place. I love that George can just run around and have fun and I don't have to worry much about him. My sister lives behind the Hicks' farm and he would just run from her house and back to see "Papa" over and over. He loved it!

Utah was beautiful and wasn't even all that cold. I think the coldest day was the last and it got down to like 40 degrees which is not bad at all. I thought we would freeze but we had ample clothing, to be sure. I even packed a snow suit for George. The only snow he got to see was the leftovers from the storm the week before; little piles here and there in gas station parking lots.

My mom and I drove up with the kids on Friday since Glen had to work and go to school through the next Tuesday. I wanted to be in Utah for my MTC roommate's reception Saturday night. I was bummed about spending my birthday on the road, but we still had fun. When we got to the hotel, there were over 20 white roses waiting for me! It was awesome! I later found out that Glen had asked our good friend Bryce Mortimer to deliver them for him. It was such a nice surprise to have there and just shows how thoughtful Glen is. We stayed in a hotel until Mom left on Monday to drive back to Arizona with my sister and the boys and I moved into my sister's house at that time. I was able to go into work on Tuesday in Salt Lake and my boss let me take Ollie. It was really fun to have him there! My wonderful sister-in-law, Marie, watched George until my brother could pick him up later in the morning and take him to his house where he had a fantastic time with his cousins, while we were away. Then we drove up to Ogden to pick up our Daddy from the airport. We had an awesome Thanksgiving dinner at Marcia's house. I love to be with Glen's family! They are so fun and I feel like I fit right in.
We were driving home on Saturday when my mom invited us to Glendale for some fun that night. Since Glendale was only a little bit out of the way, we stopped there on our way home and spent some time with my brother and sister and their families as well as my parents. We were there a good hour before everyone else so we left shortly after they arrived. We finally made it home around 9 pm and I walked in to the most glorious of sights: Glen had put up all of the Christmas decorations, including our beautiful tree, before he left on Tuesday! All-in-all it was a great week! Now it's time for Christmas!Chelsea and Glenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15200797361211802573noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7940164074823132632.post-59849567101057661552012-11-06T06:32:00.000-08:002012-11-06T06:32:28.065-08:00An Apple A Day

We bought a ginormous box of apples from the same lady that sold us the
peaches and went to work last week. All of her fruit comes from Utah so
you know it's good! We made applesauce, applesauce for babies, apple pie
filling and apple butter (a special request from Grandma). It was a lot
of work but it sure is tasty!

We made four quarts of regular applesauce, about 40 ounces of frozen baby food, two pints of canned baby/George applesauce, four pints of apple butter, and 3 quarts and 1 pint of apple pie filling. We borrowed a water bath canner when we did the peaches and we just haven't given it back yet... It's so fun!Chelsea and Glenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15200797361211802573noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7940164074823132632.post-60127141300547352512012-10-26T09:48:00.001-07:002012-10-26T09:50:41.054-07:00My Baby: Six Months!

Oliver was six months last Friday but we didn't have an appointment with the doctor until Wednesday. Here are his measurements:

Weight: 16 pounds 5 ounces (25th %-ile)
Length: 27 inches (50th %-ile)
Head circ: 17.5 inches (89th %-ile)

I don't know where our boys get their big heads... Oliver is so dang cute! I can't stand it sometimes. He has the sweetest smile and the calmest disposition. He has no teeth yet but he has tried a few different solids. He has tried green beans, sweet potatoes, peaches and grapes. His favorite are frozen grapes in his little mesh feeder. He also really likes peaches but he will still eat the veggies when offered. I add a little oatmeal to the green beans to make them a little more palatable.

He is not trying to crawl at all! He is content to just lay or sit on the floor. He can pull himself up but he doesn't do it unless we tell him to. It's pretty cute because he gets a big smile on his face knowing how much we like it.

He wakes up twice each night; once around eleven/midnight and again around 4/5 am. He goes to bed at the same time as George around 8 after a bath and story time. I love seeing these little boys in the bath together! He sleeps until 8 am usually. He adores George and will also smile when he talks to him. I always tell George that Ollie is his best friend. George has adjusted really well to being a big brother. He loves it!

George: Peepee this way, peepee that way. Oh, it's bigger! (the peepee stream) Bubbles! I make bubbles! (boys!)

Mom: George, let's go!
George: Okay, Mommy! Let's go! We go play with da kids?
Mom: No, it's time for a nap.
George: (dejected) Ohhhhh... I wanna go to da store!
Mom: Nope, it's nap time!
George: Take pants off!
Mom: Wait and take them off in your room.
George: Ohhhhhh-kaaaay

Daddy: K, George, give me a hug and a kiss!
G: No, no go!
Daddy: Come on, George!
G: I wanna go in da car!
Mommy: You can't go in the car, you're not wearing any clothes (he took them off as soon as he woke up)
G: I want clothes!
Mommy: Daddy's leaving, give him a hug and a kiss.
G: Ohhhhhhh-kaaaaay

Mommy: George, get off your brother!
G: I wuves baby bruver!
Mommy: I know you love him but you can't strangle him! He's just a baby!
G: No a baby! Baby bruver!
Mommy: Yes, he IS your baby brother but he is little and you need to be soft and nice. Say sorry and give him a kiss.
G: Okay, Mommy. Sah-wey (Sorry) baby bruver, give you a kiss! *kiss*

I love this boy more and more every day. Today he was getting on my nerves just a bit but I could tell he was really bored and just wanted to play. Unfortunately, I can't play much during work hours. He kept asking me to dance with him. I did once but not as much as I should have. He's so dang smart and extra special polite. I taught him to say, "Okay, Mommy" whenever I ask him to do something or tell him something. I remember my mom always telling me, "Just say okay!" because I always had something else to say. I would always talk back. I am trying to get him to get used to just saying, "okay". Hence it being one of his favorite words!
My little sister is in town so I took the day off and we headed to the zoo! There were six kids, ages three and under. It was so fun! I love that George and Ollie have cousins so close to them in age. My sister Jaylyn brought her three kids and my little sister Caitie brought her little girl. Jaylyn has twins that will be four in January and they love George and vice versa. It is so fun to watch them play. At one point, George and Addylyn were holding hands and singing the alphabet song as they walked along. It was so cute!
This is a picture I got after I told George not to turn around and smile. Kids are too easy!

George's favorite animal was the giraffe. It is all he can talk about. If anyone asks what he saw at the zoo, he will always mention the giraffe. He had show and tell yesterday at preschool and told all the kids about it. One kid said, "Oh, the virgaffe!" and George said, "No, giraffe!" and they went back and forth a few times before the teacher intervened and really made that little boy mad!
Mommy's favorite animals were the monkeys, of course! They have a monkey village and it's a huge cage where you can walk in and the monkeys are swinging through the trees all around you. It was so awesome! And Glen was able to join us after his class ended. ASU is just ten minutes from the zoo!
We bought a 32 pound box of Utah peaches last week and did what we could with them. We canned 12 quarts, made about 70
oz of baby food, made some peach popsicles, peach muffins and still had
peaches left over for George and I to snack on.
We also have been experimenting with different Pinterest recipes. One day I made a yummy cake that reminded me of Fall. We have also made chicken Caesar sandwiches, many types of cookies, playdough, colored rice, and I even made my own empanada dough that was pretty dang good and could work for a pie (I think a peach pie is in my future). I really enjoy Pinterest and I enjoy it even more when the things they tell me are true...
Oliver is five months-old! He is finally rolling both ways and enjoying every minute of it! I don't know why it takes my kids so long to roll over. I think they just don't see why they would need to until they start really wanting that toy way over there. Lucky for me he is not cutting any teeth yet! George had like four teeth by now and the end of nursing came shortly thereafter. He is a happy jack. George loves him to pieces... literally. I am waiting to find Ollie bits strewn about. He hugs him and kisses him and jumps on him and so on. But he also give him his pacifier when he is sad and pats his back to help him burp or fall asleep.
George has started to dress himself. He has never had the confidence and I just started making him do it on his own. He doesn't like to fail so he gets really frustrated if he can't do it perfectly. He is loving preschool and making some friends. For that I am truly grateful! Thanks Mrs. Brianne! Chelsea and Glenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15200797361211802573noreply@blogger.com0
